Job vacancy PROJECT MANAGER ENGINEER

Role

The person recruited will join the design office and will be in charge of designing, calculating and drawing structural parts. The work entails analysing the specification and then designing a part that meets the requirements of the specification (dimensional, environmental and structural), whilst ensuring technical feasibility for production and optimising costs.

This work is not carried out in isolation at Sobelcomp, but involves interaction with customers and production and frequent discussion for approving technical decisions made.

Once the part has been designed and approved, the design engineer is in charge of procuring the material required for manufacture, producing data sheets and the documentation required for starting production and quality management and finally transferring to production.

Under the continuous improvement policy, the design engineer is also responsible for providing feedback on parts in production.

Profile

You have occupied a similar post for at least 3 years – ideally in a design office designing technical and/or structural parts in composite materials or plastics.

You understand the needs and requirements of production and the links between choices made at the design stage and results in terms of product quality, reproducibility and tolerance of parts.

You have an excellent knowledge of CAD – CATIA V5 in particular – and have already designed and optimised parts using finite element modelling.

Ideally, you will also be familiar with composites, their advantages and limitations and ways of implementing them.

You enjoy working and communicating with people and are looking to make a smooth transition into a team where people, collaboration and a friendly working atmosphere are important.

You are capable of taking the initiative and enjoy working in a team.

Experience: minimum 3 years’ experience in a design office/CAD

Qualifications: Engineer/Master in Material Sciences/Mechanics/CAD.

Languages: French and English compulsory.
